Why Did You Feel The Need To Do This?
There were people who were (and still are) asking. There
are NO places on the net pertaining to ALL of them as individual
artist or a collective group. Thus, the Studio was created.
Besides SHAGGY's Official site, there is no one site that has
who they were or what they did before signing with MCA.
Actually, MCA doesn't have anything on ALL of them now.
Lastly, and this may get me in hot water but it needs to be said,
heard and read.... The (lack of)Promotion for The CREW
is APPALLING to say the least. Yes, they have been on TV, radio,
the and internet worldwide. I know they can promote themselves
as collective artist but....think on this. Why is The CREW
NOT on ANY US based magazine covers, even if it is Field & Stream!?
Why? Why has OPRAH NOT had them on her show, even after my
repeated attempts to get them there, when practically EVERYONE else
has!? Why? And that is just some of my 'why' questions of a long list.
So, little Ms. Internet Promotions and Local Public Relations
has said what she feels and diligently strives on....
Do You Work On Studio Related Things Offline As Well?
Yes, I do. They call me the promoter in the new Millennium who still
acts like one from the 70's - 80's. I work out of my car, on my phone,
on the cell, laptop soon, and anywhere else that will get the message across. Don't We King Adonijah?
How Much Do You Get Paid For The Studio/SHAGGY Work?
My first payment is self satisfaction. If I am happy and content
about what I am doing, then all is well. Then I can add that I am
learning a great deal on ALL levels from it , this is a BIG plus.
Next, is their support base satisfaction, if they are happy then
that pleases me as well. Finally, I do it for the promotion of ALL
of them. If they don't like it, I ask them to contact me and let me know.
About the $$'s - NONE.
Why Is It Named 'SHAGGY's Studio.com?'
It is a NEWLY modified name effective now.
Search Engines, Web Site listings and everyone else keep calling this.
But I named it this to reflect the place they work in, one.
And two, I am the owner of a DOMAIN as of May, '01.
How Often Is It Updated?
Literally... Daily
Who Maintains It? Who Adds Information To It?
I own it, maintain it and design it. EVERYONE can contribute
to it as long as it is reliable and quality information.
All contributors have credits wherever they made contribution(s).
Do SHAGGY and Crew Have Any Say So Or Input Personally?
Robert has personally donated his bio. Other than this, no other
approval, disapproval or input has been given thus far.
But the door has always been and always will be open...
How Do You Get It To The Internet?
I use WordPad to write the HTML, JAVA, CGI Scripts and etc.
I then transfer it to an HTML editor - Arachnophilia - for corrections.
And then it is transferred using WS_FTP or Smart FTP.
Do You Know Them Personally?
Who JAVA, CGI, My SQL and HTML? YES, I do?
Seriously, I have met some of the Crew on 2 different occasions.
Do You Have Personal Contact With Them?
I have no direct contact with them.
Where And How Do You Get ALL Your Information?
All over the internet in many searches.
People who know the music donate information
on various mediums and in various forms.
Watching, reading and listening to various sources involving
any one of them or all of them. I purchase loads of items as well.
One person from the Crew sent me his bio.
Why Aren't There More Photos?
The photos are being resized as that is a lot of work.
believe it not, it is easier to write an HTML page than
it is to rework a photo for net submission. And over 200+ at that.
Patience, patience, patience.
I Sent You Some Photos, I Don't See Them. Why?
First answer was I ran out of space on my old server. Graphics/Images
of any kind are very weighty (large in total size if there are many)
on a server. Next, when I moved to my current server, I had over 200+
photos to resize. See the answer above for more details.
How Long Did/Does It Take To Design The Studio?
Well, the Studio will always be 'under construction' as the net
term goes. It WILL always be modified. How long it takes to do
a page depends on information I want to add and what I have to do
to get it net ready. From 30 minutes to a week. The Studio's main
core was designed in roughly 6 days.
Additional information is continually being added.
How Much Time Do You Spend On It Daily?
My allotted time on work days is no more than 2 hours,
if possible on a given day. Not necessarily every single day.
Off days, the sky is the limit depending on the amount
of information I need to add.
Yes, I do have a life off of here when not doing the site, so don't ask.
What Are Your Favorite Websites?
The Studio, Of Course,
Di's Michael DeLorenzo Suite - My First Website
And 2 Pages of 5 On SHAGGY's Official Website
I have others but that list is too long for here.
Who The He** Are You?
I have been asked just like that many times before.
I think my bio should answer that along with these FAQ's. If not, sorry.
See the 'I Am 'Di'/ She section for more details.
Will You Stop Doing This Site One Day? If So When?
Eventually, I probably will stop doing this site as I did my other one.
Hopefully the reasons won't be the same. I get bored easily
and if it does not hold my interest long..... then .......
Right now, they are ever so busy, so you all are in luck.
And if they stop making music and performing,
then what would be left to do?
There's no sign of that happening just yet though.
When And Why Did You Stop Doing Your Other Site?
Basically I stopped maintaining the other site
because it no longer held my interest. Along with so
many more reasons too many to list.
It is still up and very active. The Message Board
on it is visited many times a day by his fans.
I stopped in Dec. '00. I still have to move
it all to a final (I hope) server.
How Long Did You Maintain Your Other Site?
I started working on that site at the end of '96.
I stopped maintaining it roughly in Oct. '00
Did You Meet Michael DeLorenzo? If So Where And When?
I met him at a Car Show here in my city in early '96
before I even thought of doing a site on him.
Did He Ever Contribute To The Site?
By being himself, yes. Directly, no. Almost the same type of folks
who contribute to this Studio contributed to that Suite.
Why Did You Start A Site On Him?
Basically the same reason but much deeper back then.
I met him and was not impressed. He was kind of arrogant, so I thought,
oh well. But I had already been into the show New York Undercover
and on a Message Board chatting with fans of the show. We had a ball.
Then I wanted to know how folks designed websites. And whallah,
a Suite was born.
How Did You Learn To Build A Website? Do You Have A Degree In It?
I have no degrees in Web Design. I do need to become
MCSE as I have LOADS of knowledge going to waste.
When you are Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer licensed,
the sky is the limit on everything computer related.
I purchased my first HTML book in '96 - 'HTML for Dummies'
I also use(d) net sources such as HTML Goodies.com, JavaScriptSource.com,
A-1 JavaScript.com and loads others. I can write HTML very well,
on a blank page, just not carefully. But we all make mistakes.
Once you master that, the next phases become
easier to write just harder to understand.
For the record, I was on a computer when Win 3.1 was around.
What Other Web Design Knowledge Do You Have?
I am attempting to master CGI,, My SQL, JAVA, and DSHTML.
In that I mean write it blind as well.
I never professed to be great at this, I just know what
I am doing and I try to do it way beyond just being GOOD!
How Often Do You Visit/View Your Site(s)?
(Laughs) NEVER! Seriously, never. Once I write it, critique
it in the HTML editor, upload it, I don't want to see it again.
You must realize I have already been looking at it for so long
putting it together. Then I have to view it on the Internet
Explorer and Netscape computers for visual net appearance.
And thus the reason for that answer. Now if someone finds an error,
then I look at it for correction purposes and only then.
How Much Do You Spend To Maintain Your Site?
Why, you going to give it all back to me? LOL
No personal figures given here, but I can give a start
on what it COULD cost.
Well when you purchase a domain
the costs can be from $15 to ?? a year. This fee is just to own
.com, .org, .net, etc. The only way you stop paying for it, is you sell it.
Next, the domain fee is roughly $5 - ?? a month. That fee is just
for the space to hold all your HTML pages, graphics and more. And this
is depending on the space required to house all that you have and want
to grow to. And then as far as the collection of stuff I own videos, photos, magazines and more. Let's just say a mortgage on the hut is a ball park
figure. And you know how much mortgages can be. You pick a number
as I will never tell. Not even to anyone in or relating to the Crew.
In summary, there is no set fee. It depends on you and what
you want to do with it and the limits you have in all
aspects of web designing.
